Meet the Masters

We are excited to have Meet the Masters back at our Crestview this year. If you are interested in helping and/or volunteering, please contact Rachael Ivory ( rcivory@gmail.com ) or Courtney Lloyd ( courtklloyd@yahoo.com

In this wonderful program, children:

  1. learn about the fascinating lives and works of master artists;
  2. study and practice techniques used by the masters;
  3. create individual projects using various mediums and techniques.

In order to make this program a success, we need YOUR HELP! Please sign up to be a parent volunteer. It doesn’t take a lot of time and it is a ton of fun. No art experience or skill is required!

We are studying six different Master Artists in 2010-11. Each artist will be introduced at an assembly. In the days and weeks following each assembly, parent volunteers will go into each classroom and help the children create master art pieces of their own!

Assembly times are as follows:
Monday, August 30th: Chagall
Monday, September 27th: Seurat
Monday, October 25th: Ringgold
Monday, January 3rd: Cezzanne
Monday, January 31st: Da Vinci
Monday, February 28th: Renoir

5th/6th Grades: 1:45-2:05 p.m.
1st/2nd Grades: 2:20-2:40 p.m.
3rd/4th Grades: 2:45-3:10 p.m.
**Parent volunteers are welcome, but not required to attend the assemblies.

-All supplies are provided.
-All necessary knowledge will be provided in training—NO PREVIOUS ART EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!!

Due to limited art supplies and the cost of this program, materials will be shared. As a result, classroom project dates will not be flexible. Please make sure you are available on your assigned date and at your assigned time. The schedule will be available at the Meet the Masters table at registration and will be available online for reference after that time. All times will be assigned first come, first serve at registration. This is an opportunity you don’t want to miss.

Volunteer training will take place the Tuesday following each assembly from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the library

Dates are as follows:
Tuesday, August 31st 1:30-2:30 p.m.: Chagall
